The machine operates as a convective drying framework. The Maize is dried and cleaned by giving a continuous flow of hot air with a specific temperature, a particular speed, and a retention time by transit over a thin air permeable belt through hot air distribution slits. There are two types of maize dryer: 1. Continuous dryer 2. Vertical flow dryer.

In the drying chamber of the Vertical flow dryer the maize gets spread for the uniform drying in a vertical flow manner, it passes through the exit point to gain optimum output.

The temperature, feeder and retention time can be controlled by an electrical control panel board. The activity is continuous and the drying is done uniformly by passing the air through the bed thickness.
